The Heart of the Lab - Researching Cardiovascular Disease

Open to Grade 7-12 and undergraduate/college students.

In this session, youth will learn about the cardiovascular system and how changes to it can affect heart health. Mandy (Kunze) Guo, a graduate student at the University Health Network, will talk about her research into atherosclerosis, a cardiovascular disease, and give students a live tour of her research space. Students will get to see common lab equipment, learn about research protocols and hear about current clinical research discoveries.
