Go With The Flow

OPTIONAL - Activity Materials:

  • 1-2 straws (or any tube with similar diameter - ideally 3” long)

  • Peanut butter or Playdough (any thicker type of spread will work)

  • 1-2 sheets of paper

  • A pair of scissors

  • Pipecleaners (or longer cotton swab may work)

  • Long balloons

  • Balloon pump

In this session, youth will participate in an interactive workshop led by a researcher from the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute. Youth will learn about blood vessels and why they are considered our body's 'internal pipes'. This workshop will teach youth about basic procedures that vascular surgeons use to treat diseases affecting our blood vessels and ongoing research at UHN.

Open to Grade 9-12 students. Certificate-eligible event!
